Sasaram: Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who in the past had faced public ire for making disgraceful remarks against the people of Bihar, calling Congress leader Sonia Gandhi “Putana”, “zehar ki pudiya” and Rahul Gandhi a “foreign parrot”, has once again made headlines for attacking the Gandhi scion. According to the news agency ANI, the junior minister in the health ministry called Congress President Rahul Gandhi “naali ka keeda” or guttersnipe.

The Lok Sabha MP from Buxar made the derogatory remark while comparing him to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Pradhan mantri gagan ke jaisa, aur jo aaj ka Congress ka adhyaksh hai unka aakaar kaisa, naali ke keede jaisa,” ANI quoted him as saying.

The 65-year-old lawmaker expressed his disdain for Rahul Gandhi for accusing Modi of lying on the Rafale fighter jet deal with France. Choubey called Gandhi “Schizophrenic” and said he deserved to be in a mental institution. “Rahul Gandhi calls himself intelligent and perfect. He accused Modiji of lying on the Rafale issue…only a person suffering from Schizophrenia disease can say this. He deserves to be in a mental institution”.

This isn’t the first time Choubey is in news for making derogatory comments. Last year he drew public ire for blaming the people of Bihar for crowding AIIMS. “People of Bihar are unnecessarily crowding AIIMS, Delhi even for minor ailments which can be treated at home,” he said a public gathering.

He comments drew criticism from rivals and allies alike with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying it is the duty of MPs to take care of their constituents who had to go to AIIMS for treatment. Back in 2015, Congress workers filed a complaint against him in Buxar for calling Congress leader Sonia Gandhi “Italy ki gudiya” or Italy’s doll and “zehar ki pudiya” or “poison pouch”.
